the lioness was underneath the zebra and more or less fully submerged, the zebras leg length kept its body out of the water, the lioness was lighter than it should of been caus is was underwater, in the fight the zebra seemed to be leaning in such a way its huge weight and mass caused it to almost drown the lioness and the zebra realised this pushing down harder on the lioness, the lioness tried to do something about it or just let go and the zebra was free. i dont know, just another guess.

We never really learn of the replicants' feelings, Deckard never really grows or understands that he is more pathetic than the replicants, Dicks' vision of how the replicants and him switch places (them becoming more evolved, him less evolved) never happens. Just saw the other ending... was appalling This is ending is better, cos it leaves you thinking, and reflects the whole film - the fact that it poses the question, what is it to be human? not just that, but i think the other ending scene is alot more simple but effective - he picks up the unicorn, you hear the guy talking in his mind, the whole audience twigs it out, and he walks into the lift, your imagination as to what happens next, maybe they live forever, doesnt matter anyway?! - THE END

To be honest I like to think that there is no definitive answer on the subject - it is your own conclusion that matters. Personally, while I see the reasons for being either replicant or human, I like Deckard being human more. It makes Roy's final act of compassion much more moving, and Deckards falling in love with a replicant much more powerful. And I like Harrison Ford's view of having one human character to relate to.

There is a very significant reason for this ending. This is the one Scott wanted all along. Gaff's unicorn is a message to tell Deckard that he really is a replicant. The origami unicorn was a reference to a dream Deckard had and had remembered. But it wasn't his dream, it was an implanted memory like Rachels spider. I you watch closely it is obvious that Deckard had suspected this for some time.
