live performances will never sound just like the recordings, and they weren't meant too, unless it was a live recording. The thing with live music, that makes it amazing, is BEING there. All those people in the audience got an amazing experience we'll never know from watching a recording on youtube. Go to new york, go to tokyo, go to boston, go to paris, go to any damn palce that has live jazz and see for yourself.
