I like Joanna Newsom's music because it seems to pre-date itself some of it sounds medievil some of it sounds like it could have been from the 1910's or 20's. Shes very good at creating a time and a place with her music.

Reply to npdragon7: Yes I love the harp on Sprout and the Bean. Prefer it to her keyboard. The album Milk Eyed Mender is a favourite of mine, wonderful lyrics.
By: depolarized. on 12 Nov 08, 01:25:38
tori amos plays harpsichord which sounds like identical to this (and most people like her voice), listen to the song blood roses by her if you want.
By: depolarized. on 12 Nov 08, 01:24:04
to be honest, shes my favourite artist from first hearing her, i never even had to get use to her voice or get past it, i think this style with the harp is very original and beautiful. I don't know I just love it.
By: curlyfroggy. on 12 Nov 08, 00:27:38
love and life and pains and what we are inside, everything in one song, in my humble opinion.
By: icemint. on 11 Nov 08, 22:19:12
it's definitely grown on me :O
By: citrusbust. on 11 Nov 08, 20:47:15
Its just her style you know? Yeah its kinda scary but...her speaking voice sounds completely different.
By: npdragon7. on 11 Nov 08, 14:34:34
I definitely like that song better, the music video is creepy, and it reminds me of The Strangers. But, I definitely think she has something and I think it is great that people can get past her voice, I am trying my hardest because I love the instrumental part.
By: them2002. on 11 Nov 08, 05:28:53
wow, does this grow on you? I'm just curious.

Hypocricy at its finest.
By: depolarized. on 10 Nov 08, 03:38:26
I never said someone needed to ask you to state an opinion before you state one, I just asked who asked for yours. You answered, congratulations.
By: Lasergunjesus. on 09 Nov 08, 16:27:26
Or I can stick to what I said, because they are interchangeable. Also, for what it's worth, I don't give a damn about spelling mistakes under normal circumstances. But if someone is going to call me out for not being "smart" enough to "get" Joanna Newsom while simultaneously misspelling "appreciate" and a slew of other words, it becomes on like so much Donkey Kong. Thanks for playing, though. You've all been a wonderful easily-trolled audience.
By: Lasergunjesus. on 09 Nov 08, 16:22:28
Here's the trick - the same nobody that asked for my opinion also asked for yours. So if you really want to get down to the brass tacks of determining who's opinion was asked for, the answer is neither of ours. Now, I'm just fine serving up opinions when they're unasked for...but you seem to have a fundamental problem with that. Or at least you claim to - if it was really such a big deal you wouldn't be giving me your opinions on metal singers until I asked for them. Which would be never.
By: depolarized. on 09 Nov 08, 15:34:30
I asked a question which I will ask again, who wanted your opinion? "Some people with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia may lose touch with reality and experience auditory hallucinations of voices." I think this may be happening to you.
By: pinkorigami. on 09 Nov 08, 05:46:12
hahahaha, well if you want to be the big bad spelling bee who buzzes around stinging all the people who spell poorly, stick to "Down's Syndrome"
By: Lasergunjesus. on 09 Nov 08, 05:25:02
Wikipedia re-directs from "down's syndrome" to "down syndrome". Now, they may not be Merriam-Webster, but I feel a lot better knowing that the folks at Wikipedia have my back on the subject.
By: Lasergunjesus. on 09 Nov 08, 05:23:00
You're right, YouTube comments aren't for opinions. Facts only, people! Fire is hot! 1+1=2! Also, this broad sounds terrible. Facts only, folks.
By: depolarized. on 09 Nov 08, 01:49:16
I don't like any metal singers, I think it sounds horrible, you not liking a paticular artist is just an opinion. Who wanted your opinion? She is a very tallented song writer, harp (player?), pianist, and vocalist.
