Ok. But, maybe, just maybe, they could make it really heavy, that way when they droped it, it would go straight down, or at least have very minimal travel due to the tornado's winds.

lol this video is 4:20 seconds long............awesome
By: NintendoMage. on 05 Oct 08, 12:13:21
If they did that then they wouldn't get all the measurements of the whole tornado. Think about it, if they just dropped it by air it would never get the measurements from the bottom of the tornado. It would just get the top section, that is, if it isn't thrown out by then.
By: MnMandiCru. on 05 Oct 08, 06:05:08
if your talking about if the tornado flew over your and you were in the middle the middle of a tornado is the quietest but the wind is strong you would have to holdig on something that goess far in the ground

i see it too its on the left
By: XxToKyOmEwxX. on 01 Sep 08, 02:56:08
Actually, if you flew over the tornado, the winds are so strong, the chances of survival are very slim. If you could even get that close to it without getting killed, anyways.

Fine. (there goes one of my ideas dashed to pieces)
By: dragonridley. on 07 Jul 08, 15:36:50
It probably is cheaper just to leave it on the ground. Besides, if you dropped the probe the upper winds of the mesocyclone would proabably catch it and throw it, several miles proably.
By: Godofwar96. on 06 Jul 08, 20:08:51
not necessarily. depends on the speed of the tornado and weather theres debris around(trees, buildings, etc) but it can and does kill many many people if its in a city/suburb area. and :|nice try:| on trying to make the professional company look fake.

By: Sirradal. on 29 Jun 08, 21:20:53
Well, I thought about the debris, but does it really get that high? All the way to the top of the tornado? About the vortex: '4thand5th' mentioned that already. So, maybe (if this has not been done already) we can drop a probe (instead of me) into the vortex. The trend seems to be to place a probe on the ground, and wait for the tornado to pick it up. So my question is: Has anyone ever just flew over the storm, and droped a probe inside??
