Actually, it would not be faster with neural network. The algorithm used was propably near optimal (an optimal solution is usually 16-17 moves). Most of the time spent was by the robot itself. Solving with neural network would probably slower.

There have been many robots build to solve rubiks cubes - often also simple methods using lego mindstorms and so on. The interesting part here was, that the robot uses a nice arm-sidearm enviroment, and precomputes lots of things like a very good solving pattern and missing cube-parts. So to me the most interesting part is the code, not the robot it's self. I'll give it 3* for worth watching.

No, everything does not have mass, you dont study Physics i guess? Ligth for example does not have any mass (that we know of) but it can still be effected by gravity, as in blackholes. The laws of physics says that NOTHING with mass can ever travel the speed of ligth - Why? because it reuquiers infinite energy. Exactly where's the profit in that? Rocket profits go to rocket makers. More rockets to neighboring planets would mean more profits just the same. Meanwhile, not too sure who is currently making profits, or has, by sending rockets into neighboring continents. That's how people learn to use an AlphaGrip, a handheld keyboard and mouse that looks like a game controller, which has 12 keys on the back (including 8 rocker keys) and 18 keys plus a trackball on the front, which enable comfortable, hi-speed typing at 50+ wpm and 10-finger-control gaming, while standing, reclining, lying down, or sitting anyhere.

I think as a prototype, they spent little time on hardware/speed/graphics (like transparency etc.) I would guess OS designers, like Apple, would take care of things like having nice transparency on the finger, something that is subtle but doesn't obstruct the use... doesn't sound like a horrible problem to have to fix. I'd guess one would likely stick with single-handed function, but then switch to this to type very fast. Would be cool for videogames!

That is brilliant. I can't wait until the concept is used with Touch sense on the back (as opposed to a huge camera, of course!). This will make typing with a real keypad possible, with some nicely designed interfaces, this should make things like the iPhone even more fun + efficient to operate.
