First of all it is about musical appreciation (or lack of it) The song is written in C major "the fourth" of C is F "the fifth" is G "the minor fall" is A minor and back to F for "the major lift" - These are the chords used in the song's composition. I would say lyrically it is more about love, relationships and sex and not the bible. I don't take any of the biblical references as literal interpretations but as similes used as poetic imagery.
