ive been to florida 3 times (going again in 2010 to see Harry Potter land) the first time i went i was 7 this year we bought fast pass thingys so we didnt have to wait as long. The fire feels hotter everytime! The scaryest bits are, well, all of it really. The sunken boat, the shed, the fire and when he gets electrecuted. Great ride!

You are not going to believe this but I was there. I am so sorry for you and your family's loss. I was vacationing there when it happened and we were at River Country that day. It was tragic and something I will never forget. I have no idea how many drownings take place there but this is too much of a coincidence. I truly hope this video did not bring back the horrors of that day because if it did I am so sorry.

He was 14 Aug of 1982. Went down the smaller of the two big slides. There were many things out of code with the park then. I hope that there was more care taken after his accident. He was found in less than four feet of water someone steped on him in a pool search. Lots of changes were made after his accident.

Wow, what a great video! Made me want to cry for the "good ole days". We live in Florida and took our kids, once again, to Ft. Wilderness. We rented boats and boated along the shore where the water park used to be. I looks like it you think it would- and old abandoned water park. We were curious- so later we drove in our golf cart thru the gate and went into where it used to be. A lot of it had been taken away and looked pretty much abandoned (sp?).

I believe that is for the new Four Seasons Resort that is planned. They just sold over 200 acres for that resort to be built and I am pretty sure that is why the area is under construction. I would love it if they incorporated RC into any resort. Unfortunately the Four Seasons will be beyond anything Disney is capable of as far as service. There is no way RC would fit into the plans of the most prestigious hotel chain in the world, but we can hope :).

I agree that last statement could be a rumor but I noticed the golf course next to FW has a lot of constn vehicles coming In&Out of that area. I C them each time I go to that area... Can't be for Contemp Resort addition. Though true it could b 4 the infamous "pet hotel" rumor I heard b4, it's on opp. side of FW where RC is located. Unfortunately this is a rumor that has been circulating for some time. Although Disney has said in the past that they wished to add a resort to the Fort Wilderness area they have never actually drawn up any plans. Many of the cast members love to spread false information and it is not their fault. They are just misinformed. River Country was used, toward the end of its life, exclusively for Fort Wilderness Guests. If they wanted it to stay open it was already the perfect fit.

I totally agree. You said it best, if they even have a chance to compete with Disney they need to enhance not redo what they have. They are squeezing in the Harry Potter stuff because they have no room to create a new land. This is a franchise that could easily support another "island" in IOA. Instead it is being crammed between Jurassic Park and The Lost Continent.

Also...This is why US has a hard time competing w/ disney. Disney is equipped w/ the land to build new rides instead of removing the old. If they want to successfully compete w/ disney they need to purchas more land and enhance rather than redo. I mean look at US history: Alford Hitchcok for Shrek Bates motel set for Barney Hanna Barbara for Jimmy Neutron Back 2 the future for simpons King Kong for the mummy Twister for ghostbusters...its a shame that all of these classic rides had 2 go

Does anyone disagree with Universal's efforts to enhance their park? What i mean is that they keep taking away the most popular & classic rides to put in more current ones. King Kong was a ride that can never and will never be duplicated. The ride was incredible and the queue area (subway sta.) was so convincing (im from NY so i know how authentic it looked) with the graffitti and the news reports. The theming really set the mood for the ride. Sorry for the rant.

WOW I wish I was there. I love Disney's party nights. They do such a great job of keeping them fresh and fun. This was a great video and thank you for using a tripod :o). It is so funny that the sound is the only way you could tell it was in fast forward.

Thank you for your comments. The funny thing is we were trying to get to the funnel cake place across the street when we ran right into the parade and couldn't cross. We were at a dead end so we just sat and enjoyed it. I usually try and catch it at least once on my trips but this particular one was not planned :)

Thank you for that. Very nicely done. I grew up in Orlando and worked at WDW from 1980 until 2006. I feel homesick now, cause that place was my home. Especially when you would have to work 80+ hour weeks during holidays...LOL

Thank you very much for the comment. I have some of these shots on my web site as wallpaper (under construction) under the fun stuff page on the bottom. I really enjoy the picture taking and I use a Canon Powershot A95. The Poly does have a great breakfast. We also like Chef Mickey's because of the selection. The Poly's is great for more of a laid back relaxing breakfast. I do enjoy both very much :o). OK OK let's face it if the place serves food I'm Happy LOL.

Great photos;the clarity is unbeleivable. You captured some great shots including the timing of the monorail. We went in Oct. 2006, click on my name to view my photos. Polynesian Village has a great characters breakfast as well as everything. What kind of digital camera did you use? Bravo!
