With that in mind, the studio responsible made their inaugural first run re-run cartoon a skinny white guy with buff tanned alter ego: He-Man and The Masters Of The Universe. I think he's great. I was just saying, the average, non musician would rather hear more melodic songs, with a ryhythm section and the band as a whole being more involved. This explains why guys like Carlos Santana sell more records. He holds a note for a full minute and he sells tons of records. His work is more collaborative, not just one guy having all the fun. As great as Malmsteen is, his stuff sounds a bit like, "Yeah, just be my drum machine, while I play one long solo and grab the glory"

I don't get those people who complain about the speed. Sure, sometimes Yngwie's performances are worse than the other times. Sometimes he just simply plays too fast, shreds too much... but for example this performance was IMO 'flawless'. There was the speed, but he did it with style. I listened to some Paco De Lucia the other day and he shreds more and plays faster than Malmsteen in this song but nobody complains about the speed.

Ah don't mind. The world is full of idiots. Some people just don't like improvisation and that's okay. Improvising can either be great or it can totaly stink... My opinion is, that if he always played the song in the same way, it would become very boring soon, or we might not see how good it could be if it was played in a different way.. But there's always the risk of seeing a lousy performance.

I know the speed, technique and technical excellence of a single band member is impressive and awe inspiring, but it may not connect with a broad audience. Most people like to hear an entire band involved in the music. They want to feel connected to all of the musicians. Technically speaking, he's brilliant! But, there's a reason he never became as big as his 80s contemporaries. He appeals more to musicians and wannbe musicians, who can relate to the technical aspects of what he does. To a wider audience he might sound like a crazed, arrogant guitar teacher, who can't resist ripping the guitar from their fumbling hands, to show them how fast he can play scales. I'd rather hear a great, slow, sensuous David Gilmore solo, but I'm an older dude, so what do I know?

Is it just me or did Talib's voice change over time? I mean, on the Blackstar album, it sounds much smoother and better, while on the newer albums, he sounds old and way worse (which is kind of the reason why I don't really listen to his new stuff as much as his old stuff).

I mean if you wanna hear "Druggy" all day, then more power to you. That will give any system a work out, but I don't think the newer wall of bass tracks are crafted as well as a lot of the old skool jungle tracks like this. Bass will get people moving regardless, but I'm also a big reggae/ragga nut, so I really like the cadence of these tracks. Anyway, to each their own.

This is the song that made me jungle addict. I heard this in the late 90s and was completely blown off the planet. I had never heard anything like it. At that time pretty much all we could find in middle Tennessee was AK1200 and Dieselboy. Shite in comparison. There still are only a few producers that can live up to the greatness of what Congo Natty was putting out in those days. Subfocus is not one of them and you obviously do not a have proper sub.
