Na minha opiniao tem bastante capoeiristas do grupo Abadá q jogam bom de+, sao gente boa, com muita percepcao do jogo. Nao falo assim por que sou do Abadá, sou nao,... mas sou capoeirista, e um bom capoeirista tambem deve aceitar pessoas melhores do que ele mesmo. Tem muitos grupos q, entre se mesmos, jogam um jogo maravilhoso, bonito de ver, mas quando saiam do grupo pra jogar com outros, já comecam agarrar, bater e tudo só pra fortificar o seu proprio ego.

Yes it is true there are two strings but only one is the instrument. One is a tool to manipulate the instrument to produce the sound. I suppose it could be argued either way because the instrument would be able to produce sound without it. Its like a guitar and a pick although in the case of the erhu the relationship would seem to be a little more intimate. Coincidently, I had that thought about this earlier today :)
