I think it's probably more folk than trad... trad's more instrumental reels, jigs and hornpipes. If you really like Irish trad stuff check out Paul Brady or The Dubliners- I'd argue that they're the best folk musicians we've ever had :-)

Whew! What a show - wow, the great singing by Ricky, the musicians, and the dancing are awesome. I had to get up and dance to this myself - couldn't keep up with them of course. Cotton Eyed Joe is practically a standard here at Renfro Valley each weekend and when the square dancers show up it's terrific. I do love the Chieftans - first heard and saw them in a video with Martina McBride's singing "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight". Super talented band. Thanks for posting-it made my day - Paula

The Cheiftains were there with Ricky Skaggs, Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Vassar Clements, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Tony Rice and a whole bunch of people 4 years ago. It was one of the best shows of my life!

Let me post something that has nothing to do with this song, but with Emmylou and the chieftains. Earlier there has been a video of Emmylou and the Chieftains when recording 'Nobody's darling but mine'. Now I cannot find it! Has it been dropped from Youtube? Does anyone have it and if so, will you please post/repost it. This is the second time a real gem is gone missing for me on Youtube. Are the least viewed videos of recent dropped or what?
