Personally, overall is Crosby. Defensive, Zetterberg. I just don't think Zetterberg puts up enough numbers. And like i said, a stat i love to rely my scale of a player on is the points per game stat. Then i would say +/-. I wouldn't say Z was a bigger asset to Detroit than Crosby to Pittsburgh, i mean, if we lost Crosby, we would have been out second round. The wings with Zetterberg, well you still have franzen, Datsyuk(who is more skilled than Z), holmstrom. When crosby is gone, its just 71

Well the reason Z got MVP was because they won the Cup. I didn't say he was unimportant, he did lead their team in points and tied Crosby in points for playoffs(playing one more game than Sid). If the Pens won the cup, Sid would have gotten it. But even without Z, i still think Detroit could have won the cup, but without Lidstrom, thats a bigger maybe. Z is a great all around player, but he plays on a team of great defensive players. Crosby plays on a team of Offensive players(Gonch, Whitney).

I know Crosby's only 21, and Zetterberg is closer to 27 I believe, but that has little to nothing to do with what we're discussing here. I personally find Z to be a better overall player than Crosby. Crosby might very well become superior there, we'll see, but as of now I don't think he is. Z was of much more importance to Detroit than Crosby was to Pittsburgh, and apparently the playoffs MVP voters agree with me. I do agree with you on Lidstrom tho, and he also did get the Norris trophy.

What i meant by the GM comment is that most GM's would take Crosby in a heartbeat over Perry. I could name about 30 players i'd rather have over perry

You have to realize he is only 21. Zetterberg is what? 25? Zetterberg won because of the team he has, i mean, if anyone should have won it should have been lidstrom. Detroit's D-men are ridiculous, probably the best sets of D i have ever seen. And your right, but having the most Points per game does, and i think Crosby had better Points per game than Zetterberg in the playoffs. Yep, Crosby did. Last time I checked hockey was a team sport and yea I know how terrible you all say the penquins are but I think Malkin and crew are pretty good. Wow let it go. Crosby and Perry are not even close to being on the same level. When GMs were asked which player they would base their franchise around, most of them said Crosby(Ovechkin came in second and Luongo third). None said Perry. Perry's achievment will never come close to Crosby's. Compare apples with apples please.

I was with my family, huddled around the TV with the fireplace going and the den decorated up when this first aired. It instantly became my favorite Christmas video. In Dec 90 I was stationed in Germany watching AFN late on the 24th and they showed this video. With DS on the horizon, I actually had tears in my eyes. In Dec 03, I was deployed to Kuwait watching AFN late on the 24th and again, this video popped up and I had the same reaction. This is arguably the best duet ever recorded.

pinkieldred, I understand where both you and devoinregress are coming from. Devo was pointing out that Louis was dressed like the band and it kind of stood out. You mentioned that was because he was sort of part of the band. At the time, he probably worked a deal to get his band on Bing's show. That meant wearing the light colored suit, I'm sure. I have no facts to back that up, but it seems obvious to me.
