I believed in God for a large part of my life, however when people I cared of started to die I began questioning my religious beliefs, I had moved from a town I loved and from friends that i cared for to somewhere completely new, I started to hate my parents and those close to me. OH, wow I remember this song. I remember how my mom and I used to stay up till' one in the morning when I was six watching Depeche Mode music videos. I've always been VERY afraid of those birds, though. I don't know why, I guess they just have an ominous air about them. I think they're pretty neat now, though. Aw, I'm babbling...okay, I'll shut up, now. ALL IN ALL, it'a an AMAZING and VERY TRUE song that I think everyone can relate too. Good job, guys.

Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of becoming a teenager, not because I was a teenage when it came out, but because of how it blends circus music with harsh, urgent synthesiser sounds and lyrics intended as a warning for the real world; "confidence taken in by a suntan and career", etc. There's a certain innocence to it all. Charming song by a great band.
