Yes, I was a AI programer. I pretty much worked on battle encounters. For example what type/kind of attack the enemies uses based on previous data (Level, Health, Magic power and so on). No I'm not Japanese; I know how to speak the language though...

Hi Bud.. Its prob best to play FVII 1st, then you will be able to understand whats going on a littile better and whats happend in clouds life. Your enjoy the movie alot more if you do :). But yea, Crisis core happens before FFVII, as when Zack died he passed on hhis Sword to cloud. Cloud is now living Zacks dream.. FFXI is hardly a final fantasy game, it hardly has a plot. All the playstation 1 final fantasies were my favorites. Then they began to suck...People don't like Final Fantasy VII because it's different and diverged from the classic Final Fantasy set-up. FFVII was a groundbreaking game and the people who hate it just seem to hate change. Although you're probably different because you like FFXI which is as far from a classic Final Fantasy as you can get but in the worst possible way...

wait, enix had more of the company's shares, but i believe the square CEO's are still in control.. btw, star ocean is a tri-ocean game, square enix just produced it, and the mana series was a spin off of the final fantasy series, though i agree, ff 12 doesn't have a good story..

no, Squaresoft were going bankrupt and basically Enix bought them out in a merger that gave Enix control. within a few years all the talent that had made square had left. whats left is really the barebones skelton of what was once square. 1992-2001 (square at their best) what defined square back in the day was the risk taking that sakaguichi took, the pioneering (its hard to realise just how much of a gamble FF7 for the PS1 was) all thats gone, its all about profit now :(

Sanctumus, I burned a torrented version of the game and it did not run on my modded US ps2. No data, it said. I think the original FM5 will run on my PS because the guy who sold me a PS2 lot had an original JP Virtua Fighter4 which worked. Yes, I have the capability to buy the game (even DL'd the patch, the decrypter and the imagediff as specified on the FMTP site) but I don't have a credit card to buy it online. I wanted to figure things out on patching before I buy the game.

Man, you and your team are awesome. Seriously, what possible reason could Square-Enix have for not translating this? FM3 and 4 met with a fair amount of success from what I heard, and FM5 just looks like it's five thousand times as awesome. I mean sure it would be a lot of work, but it isn't like they don't translate the massive amounts of text for the Final Fantasy series, which isn't half as good as Front Mission. Whatever, I'll never understand those guys...

Actually, you will need to have a ps2 that is able to play backup games. This can be done by either installing a modchip or using another method (swapmagic, e.t.c). A burned game will not work any other way. So you would buy the game > convert to image > patch it > burn it > play on a modded ps2.

I first saw the screenshots on the FMTP site a few weeks ago and boy did they blow me away. Now I really want to finagle a copy somewhere. LegaiaRules, I think subtitling the cut scenes would do. As for the work, you are so EVERYWHERE, man! I just hope Squenix will not crack down on you guys with a cease and desist the way they did the Chrono Trigger Remake Project. It'll be just an admission of an error in not releasing FM5 stateside. Thanks a lot!
