First, the Patriot Act was passed by CONGRESS. There are very specific circumstances under which searches must be made, all of which can still be overturned by the Supreme Court. Even the suspension of Habus Corpse is only under special conditions. These conditions would not apply to most citizens of the United States. There is no law that says protest of the war is a criminal act. If there was such a law, "Code Pink" would be wearing stripes.
