Well you were very kind to the spider. It's definitely a wolf spider. Not particularly dangerous. It'll leave a welt that looks like a large mosquito bite with two puncture marks that itches a lot but it won't kill any vertebrate animal that I'm aware of. Spiders freak me the hell out too but if I can push then out without killing them I will. They've got an important function to perform. I think it's mostly the way the move that freaks people out but the fangs and the venom don't help.
