The Spitfire (dunno about the seafire specifically) series actually did see action in the Pacific front. The Zero easily outmaneuvered it. And since the spit pilots were used to being the most agile fighters in the sky they had no experience in high speed vertical fighting against a more maneuverable opponent.

yes, but,...the 20mm cannons had few rounds ( I think around 120 per weapon) and therefore got depleted quickly, as for the 7,7mm weapons,...they were weak against well armored american planes (substituted by HMG later on). Regarding manouverability,...yes,...it was excellent, but only at low and medium speeds, at high speeds it wasn't as good, and when the americans knew about that and changed tactics, the zero was doomed.

You're right that the A6M Zero had very little armor, but it didn't have "little firepower". The A6M Zero had 2 20mm cannons and 2 7.7mm machine guns. Also, don't forget that the Zero was extremely maneuverable. So, overall, the Zero was a fantastic plane, and it was easy to shoot down, IF you could line up a shot on it.

50 cal is 12.7mm which is a joke comparing to 20mm guns. Type 99 20mm cannons, which a6m had, have fire rate of 490 rounds/min which is something over 8 rounds per second. I wouldn't call that slow.

Very nicely done video. An even better job on the model. The only noticeable thing was the two-bladed prop. FWIW, I believe that is an F6F-5, though. The -4 models had a small rear window that proved to be useless so it was deleted on the later model. The F4F Wildcats came in -3 and -4 models with the -4 having folding wings. Impressive job overall!

The Hellcat was a great plane, but coming late into the war and mainly in the Pacific area, it was flown against Japanese pilots who were never of the same standard as those in other air forces and whose quality deteriorated markedly in 1944 and 1945. Also, do not the titels to this film state "Hellcat 1942" or similar ? Well, NO Hellcat was in service ( or even in a design stage, I think ) that early in the War.

The lethality of the Hellcat in aircombat wasn't even approached by any contemporary aircraft. And hasn't been matched until recently with the 'teen' generation US fighters, F14, F15, F16, F18. Are you talking about kill/loss ratio? Because if you are, then you are dead wrong. The Hellcat had a better kill/loss ratio than the P-51 Mustang and it shot down the most enemy aircraft of any Allied fighter in WWII. If the kill/loss for this plane was 3 to 1, we would have lost the war!

It's the reason that psychobilly has become such terrible music lately, cause everyone knows that the nekromantix, horrorpops, and tiger army are the prime examples of quality psychobilly. The car your viewing above is an engine milled from a solid Billet of Ally and the rest of the mechanical parts are borrowed from other cars. This car will not succeed in production let alone Le Mans. Just cos an engine gives impressive figures in a dynocell does not mean it will blow everything else of the track.
