I agree, PG1986ko. The interviewer is very respectful of where Iggy is coming from, even though he admittedly doesn't understand where Iggy is coming from. The interviewer looks so square, and Iggy looks so dangerous, the juxtaposition is astonishing. I'm not even sure Iggy knew how significant this interview was, but it is absoulutely riveting for its entire running time. I ask myself, "What other TV interview have you seen that was this interesting?" The answer: none, ever.

Iggy,Iggy how you rock so raw. I saw Iggy perform when he first started touring again in 1977. His concert was great and the Ramones opened for him. They too were great. How music has changed. I wish there was a time machine to relive those days. And boy is he hot, still today! He still puts on a great show up to the present. I hope when I am 60 I can move like that rare creature.

agree - cheesy video, great song. a stand out in my genre favorites. i'm trying to picture how that video would have impacted me when it was made in the 80's with me in my twenties. didn't see it though, just seeing the vids for the first time, and he's a frightening looking chap! definitely cutting edge and an artist. the song is eternal and a new video could be spawned from it. it would have to do the artist justice though.

I remember Iggy from my ol hollywood days. Mid late 80's he was still seat awrming at the old faymoose clubs, ie whiskey, troubadour,stardust & not looking so shit hot. Looked as if he was heavy into drugs/booze or was dying of aids or somethin. I never cared for his 'tude before he drifted into obscurity as the new generation took over. i guess if you're a tom waits fan, it comes across as one of those gem like moments. especially since he's been in a few jarmusch films from his early days. Down By Law for example. i guess the hallmark of the jarmusch cinema is it's getting-nowhere, moving-sideways kinda feel. many friends i know can't sit through them. and the adlibbed bit about tracheaectomy with a ball-pen, etc - mr. waits in a classic mood.
