True, but it's in Camp Randall. I think the Penn State game is another big one because they're different on the road than at home. Penn State blew out Wisconsin 38-7 at home, but on the road only beat Indiana 36-31. But I think if Illinois can beat Mizzou and PSU, they'll have the confidence to run the table and steamroll over everyone, including Ohio State, make it to the NCG, possibly win and finish #1.

I think they'll squeak past Mizzou, but it could go either way. If Mizzou wins, then I see them in the NCG. Illinois might lose in Happy Valley only because it's a conference opener and it's at night in a stadium that made so much of a home field advantage that Penn State played Michigan to the wire in 2006. But what works in Illinois' favor here is that they're much better than they were in 2007, and they did beat Penn State in 2007, never once trailing on the scoreboard. The other one is Wisky

Actually that was 2006. In 2005 the only wins for the Illini were over San Jose State and Rutgers, but went winless in the Big Ten. The much improved Illinois in 2006 got its only conference win agianst Michigan State and an OOC win against Eastern Illinois. The difference was that the 2006 Illinois team just couldn't close the deal in close games, but the 2005 Illinois team was consistantly blown out. The 2007 Illini showed the beginnings of the team's true potential.

OSU--20 game Big10 win streak going into that game; OSU ended up in the NC game in spite of loss to us. OSU was a great team; I was proud to beat them. Looks like this year we'll do it again. However, I will say that I was very disappointed in the TMB's conduct. We were sitting in our buses after the parade, waiting to be shuttled to the stadium. USC's busses were right next to us. As we pulled out, the whole bus flicked us off. One of our buses said that the USC band mooned them, but I didn't see that. We in the MI were ready for an intense game, but were hoping that the bands could get along (like we do when bands visit us or when we visit others). But it was not to be.

Should have played Illinois March. I don't care if there was a risk for the infamous "Loyalty/March", we should have done something else... And about this whole TMB vs. MI thing, the whole issue comes down to the fact that the TMB is designed as a crowd-pleaser band (blat out pop so the drunk can be all "Dude, I know that song!) while the MI is designed around a more traditional style (playing music well). It's a matter of preference. If you like blatty bands, go ahead and listen to USC.

This was a great game that showed that Illinois is on the right path again. To go on the road and not just beat teams, but absolutely kick the shit out of them, shows that Ron Zook will completely bring back the once-ailing program in a few years, and that 2007 is just the beginning. That was a sarcastic question, I know Ohio State is a great team. Usually there's the Big Three (PSU, OSU, and UM), the two who sometimes play at the top of the conference (IOWA and WISC), the middle (Illinois, MINN, Purdue, MSU, Northwestern), and the punching bag (Indiana). This year was a little different, Illinois played amazing, and Minnesota was the punching bag.

Great video. I am an Ohio State fan but Illinois looks very good this year, even better than last year. BUT Ohio State though might have their best team in almost 15 years this year. Michigan is not going to be good this year so someone has to step up. I hope Illinois and Ohio State both go into their game undefeated. That would be a clash!!

I wouldn't be surprised if Illinois wins the Big 10 this year. Mostly because how they played last year. Last year they didn't play like a Cinderella, a cinderalla team usually wins a bunch of close games and gets lucky, but Illinois manhandled just about everybody, including a blowout win at Minnesota, and was never blown out in the regular season, and even the Rose Bowl was a lot closer than the score. Hopefully Illinois gets another shot at USC but this time blows them out.

I think Illinois' only losses will be to Penn State and Wisconsin and should finish second, ahead of Ohio State to go to the Rose Bowl. Penn State will lose only to Wisconsin. Ohio State will lose to Illinois, USC, and Penn State. Wisconsin loses to Michigan, Ohio State, and Iowa. Michigan loses to Penn State, Ohio State, Illinois, Utah, and Notre Dame. Why throw when you can run? Iowa proved why today. If you only run and teams DO tackle unlike UW did, you will fail. You HAVE to convert passes in football. That's only been proven since the 1930s. Today Zook proved he can't coach, turning down two 4th downs and making bad calls all day. And just like I said, Iowa OWNED the middle of the field, and their offense sucks. Come back down to earth your athletics still suck.

If anything, Ron Zook's tenure signals only that we're on the rise -- he recruited 22 out of the 24 players that simply outran Ohio State in the national championship game last year. Even if he's not coaching, we'll still be good. You're right that our offense is built around rushing, but why throw when you can run over everyone? Also, keep in mind that Eddie McGee CAN throw, and you can bet that he'll do that soon...most notably to our future All-American WR Arrelious Benn.

If not for the 500 word limit, I would have said just that. We did get outplayed. I was there live, and I don't know if it translated through TV or not but Illinois clearly played harder than Wisconsin. But seriously, Zook still can't coach. He ran maybe 5 plays consistently the whole game and while it worked due only to bad tackling, it's clearly an offense designed for a QB that just can't hit receivers. I still think UW's the better team, but yes U of I played better at home.
