but i've heard that Yoko Kanno doesn't composer solely on herself, she composed most of the songs with a TEAM (bunch of people)! which is contrary to Yuki kajiura, who composed by HERself only. and that's the reason why we can hear many similarities from Kanno's works with other classical composers. her "team" might suggest those songs, and Kanno just re-mixed them, not 100% composed them. is this true? can anybody confirm this?

Really nice video to a beautiful song. But, so fracking sad. Wish they could've been together, and that things turned out better for Kuze (if you haven't seen the end-no spoilers). Probably my favorite episode of the GITS series, i was so surprised by this one the first time I viewed it, the song makes me cry a bit. For the story: the boy is supposed to be the imigrants chief the only person of the eleven individuals who stay alive in the serie. check stand alone complet first season to understand how all is related.

come on...don't even get me started on howard shore and carmina burana/conan the barbarian. or james horner and irish folk pieces, or harry gregson williams, brian tyler, and every other Hans Zimmer zerox machine out there. this piece at best evokes a similar musical feeling...we already know Kanno likes to do that...but none of it is actually even like rhapsody in blue. not to mention 90% of all the jazz out there sounds the same anyways. Okay to clear it up once and for all.. the actual band performing this is called Rabbit Junk, they have several CD's, listen to some of the other stuff from them here and its obvious that its the same people, this isn't some japanese chick performing it and has nothing to do with Anime in fact, it was just one of their songs remixed a little and put in an anime, not made exclusively for it.

as for Piano Black, maybe it would help you to take the pedal off for the slide, it sounds a lot like a glissando. other than some tiny details, your renditions are excellent. i still can't get over the fact that you're self-taught :) i'm very glad to meet you too, Hann. it is good to talk with another piano player :) i hope your music develops further also. best of luck to you, and happy American New Year :)

i'm very glad to find someone else who loves to play as much as i do :) as for personal lessons, i wish you the best of luck. i have had about five teachers, and each time i switched, it was because i had come to the limit of that teacher. it became a pain, and now i am on my own. Jazz is the greatest form of music that exists, at least in my opinion :) i love jazz with all my heart :) perhaps you should try Piano Bar II, another one by Kanno Yoko. i'll give you the link to the sheets.

No, it's my SERIOUS hobby. I LOVE to play piano, but never considered to be professional musician. My major is biology. I've been played piano about 15 years. But compare with the years of my experiences, I think I'm not talented. Nowadays, I had realized the limitation of my self-study of music (especially for jazz style-I love it!), and I thought about personal piano lesson. But it was pretty expensive..maybe I can afford it someday, after I earned enough money^^

very well done, Hann! much applause! a note, though, Green Bird was a tad slow, kinda' dragged. not bad, tho. & maybe little less pedal through Piano Black? maybe slow down just a tiny bit through ELM, you're losing the definition. nothing personal, really. ive played just about all of it also, with LOTS of people making me play it better! i just don't have a video camera, so i can't post :(
