The exaggerated features and over the top animation is a big part of what makes japanese anime attractive to audiences. It's not the "best" form of animation, if one can even quantity such a thing, but it has some obvious strengths and its nice to see a new spin on batman. I loved the 1992 Batman:TAS and I also happen to like Batman Beyond. I can enjoy different ways of telling the Batman story. :)

I enjoyed watching 'Batman: Gotham Knight' mainly because the best Batman of all; Kevin Conroy was playing Batman's voice again. Favorite stories: 'In Darkness Dwells,' 'Deadshot,' 'Crossfire' and 'Field Test.' 'Working Through Pain' is ok but a little gory. The worst story is 'Have I Got a Story For You.' I think Ledger's interpretation of and portrayal of the Joker blows away even Jack's 89' performance (and that says ALOT). Burton's movies stylistically blow Nolan's away, but Nolan's aren't "for kids" in the way Burtons are. They're much less pop, and are darker and deeper. Ledger's joker is more believeable, realistic and hence more sinister and scary than Jack's joker. I'm not comparing the actors, but the interpretations of the Joker. Ledgers>Jack's.

David Boreanaz was offered the part of Bruce Wayne/Batman on Batman Begins, but he turned it down. Too bad to because Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are both great movies and The Dark Knight made alot of money. David Boreanaz is my favorite actor too, but Christian Bale is an excellant Batman anyways. David Boreanaz probably wouldn't be as good of a Batman as Christian Bale even though I like David Boreanaz more.

fab film, the joker is just great, the thing about oust classic villans is that they have reason to do insane things such as money etc and therefore they have limits, the joker doesnt have reason, hes just insane, so he has no limits. great film, if anyone hasnt seen it, just go. fantastically made, so much better than the first one

No no it wasn't on all the time just a minor shock the first time, then my friend Moritz and his friends laughed at me. And yes I watched tv at 1:00 AM It was interesting (and funny to me) going straight from something like the simpsons to that.(I'm from Canada and didn't really mind or care that much.) I'm from Germany, and I can't remember any real nudity in the afternoon - that stuff in commercials is nothing extraordinary. Did you ever see a commercial past 1 in the night? That would probably shock the average American... I mean, seriously, the lady in the clip is not even *really* stripping, it's just some erotic dancing. I lmaoed when they showed that older woman putting her hands before her eyes, as if she had seen something evil or so. Well, I guess you guys are really kinda prude ;)

You're right Rodshark I just took a trip to my friend's house in Germany and was a bit surprised about the amount of nudity. It's not on tv 24/7 but it still was a bit of a shock to see it randomly on commercials (at 2:00 in the afternoon) or newspapers every once and a while. The difference between North America and Europe is that over there it's perfectly normal and no one really cares at all.

While pub rock might have been a target (at least for the British punk bands), the latter two bands or mainly the more complex rock forms that came after them, punk definitely sought to destroy. 76-77 Punk Rock was all about a return to Chuck Berry, Elvis and minimal song structure. Punk Rock had everything to do with Genesis and other Prog bands. The actual irony for punk was that it hit mainstream appeal in Britain and was no longer cutting edge/"rebellious" anymore.

JoshDone - I was in a punk band in 77. Punk at the time was against Elvis, Beatles and the Rolling Stones - nothing to do with Genesis. Listen to the energy - the early 70s was very similar to punk. Punk happened in 76 to get rid of pub rock - Clancy, Cado Belle, Moon etc. Good bands but they were never gonna make it - that's why punk broke through. It was supposed to make playing in pubs fashionable but the irony of it was that it killed the pub bands.

Quite possibly one of the best movies ever made... the soundtrack, the filming, the acting... everything blends together seamlessly in a much needed "anti-comic-book-movie" (too many comic books to movies are getting demystified and done in a cheesy fashion).
