If the laptop has a volatile memory system on the motherboard, just take out the CMOS battery for 5 minutes. Plug it into the a power source, then unplug the power source. Re-insert the CMOS batttery and you're golden.

removing the battery not the cmos. there is a bios reset jumper on all mobos I have ever worked with. and the proseger is the same on all of them. disconnect the power supply (this includes secondary power but not cmos or the like) and shorting it for between 5 secants and a minute. to my knowledge all laptops still use a battery on the road.

This is my fav. episode of Odd Couple!! You can kinda tell that its scripted though, because if you watch Betty White (the Fair Lady of the Passwords) on Password, she would never have said some of those responses or clues, and wouldn't have passed pencil. You left out rainbow tables, that's practically the most important thing in password cracking. They have a application called WINRTGEN what comes with Cain. It takes a long time to generate or download a rainbow table. A good rainbow table set would be about 20 GB. But, it's worth it. I cracked my 19 digit password which was MD5 format, and it took five minutes.

Lol we use ARP at work for other purposes. Saminside also works well. Download a copy of knoppix. Boot up someones PC with knoppix and steal their registry files. I did this in school and got teachers passwords. Nearly caught SEVERAL times but this slacker graduated somehow... :) Btw with saminside the user has had to have logged on the PC you take the registry files from atleast once...

I was in grade school at the time so I didn't know any different but I remember my parents and grandparents all saying that the years had not been kind to Lucy when she appeared on Password. That aside, she was one of the better players on the show. She did come across as a bit stiff and tense, but I think that was because she took it very seriously.
