Thanks for the review! I don't remember SimCity coming out for the Speccy, must have been just after I sold mine and moved to 16bit! It's amazing what they crammed into that little machine, especially when you consider it had 48k of RAM (unless this was 128k only...but that's still pretty impressive)

I remember this game quite well - if you persevered with it a lot, it showed tantalising signs of what it might have been. However, it was frustrating and idiosyncratic. The publishers basically bullied the people who wrote the game into rushing it to market so they could make a quick buck, rather than letting them develop it properly.

Mate think you need to drastically improve your review technique! You remind me of Karl Pilkington doing a review. The idea is to bomb the spherical reactors. To stop being shot by lasers you drive into the pylons. then the lasers shoot upwards and not at you. then you can bomb the reactors.

i just 'aquired' this for the PC the other day, but when i play it, the game runs too fast. it doesn't seem to affect the gameplay, but when characters talk to each other its super fast. it seems others are plagued with bugs/glitches too. pitty, as it is a legend among the resi evils.

Nice game is Enduro. In fact it is not only the daylight changes, but also weather changes. The 'white' road is SNOW (listen to the softer sounds and notice the harder control) and the grey screen in the night is FOG. Back in the days it was one of my favorites, but I like the "American Road Race" more (on atari 800xl). That is almost the same game, without the need of getting the amount of passed cars. Thanks for the nice review!

Im going to get flamed to shreds. But I only heard of this game about 3 years ago, I was more of a mega drive guy back in those days. and having the Zelda theme playing continuously at the main map drives me bonkers at times.

To get fireworks the last digit in the timer must read either 1, 3 or 6. To get to World -1, right before the goal pipe in 1-2, you have to break the 2nd and 3rd bricks (the 2nd one at least) from your right, and then crouch inside of the entrance you made (you may have to do this several times to get it just right). Just before the warp zone message appears, go down either the 1st or 3rd pipes you see to get to -1; taking the 2nd one warps you to World 5.

Are you just braying impulsively or do you have any sort of critical insight to back up your rebuttal? Considering this game originated on the Sega Genesis in 1991 and was ported to it's obviously less capable 8-bit counterpart, the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, i think it fared pretty well. The same could not be said, unfortunately, were the same done on the NES. You may refer to the footage of the tragically inept NES ports of Altered Beast and Shinobi to support my words.

the 2.5 looked and acted the same as 3.0 i had it for the 600 though 3.0 had better libarys to support the aga features of the 1200 4000 is my guess, if you was good with arexx too etc you could customise the desktop to look sweet even add start up menus etc all this on just 3 880k disks excluding the fonts :)i remmeber having a 120meg harddrive and could never fill it dispite all the software and animations i had lol awesome

With the AGA chipset all resolutions (320x200 up to 1280x512) could have 256 colours. Or 262144 colours with ham. JPEGs looked great in those modes, though you needed an accelerated computer in order to display them before you died of old age. ;)

Ah, the British dialect I can actually speak *thumbs up* I've got Workbench 3 actually working on my 500+, with a 4 ROM chipset... THAT was a pain xD With the AGA chipset, low resolution screen could get a maximum of 256 colors. It's quite amasing, even when it was new... Perhaps STILL good!

man download an emulator, as far as i know all these games and the emulator is totally legal as they're in the public domain or something? (this don't apply to Amiga emulators mind u, u need to buy the ROM for those) google spectrum emulator. Hope that helps

Hit all the shields, then when they were glowing you'd hit the teachers to get a letter except the history teacher. For him, you had to pay attention in history and find out the date of a battle he asks. You'd write this on the blackboard and when he saw this, he'd release his letter. When you had all four letters, you'd write this on the blackboard and that would open the safe in the teachers lounge. This had to be done within attending classes and not letting your lines get to 10000.

Steal something from the safe in the headmasters office. You had to light up all the shields, then the teachers would end up giving you one combination for the safe. I think mr creek was different though and you needed to do something else with him. I didn't get it as a kid either but still enjoyed messing around in it.
