i've watched this video twice in the past 2 days.... i can't get over how amazing this man was. It's so inspiring to see someone tackle an illness the way he has. I've lost so many people to this awful disease, but seeing someone take a stand for life is unbelieveably refreshing. i can't get over this.. for those of you who haven't read the book, read the book, and then rewatch this video... it's a whole new experience

I did not know him, but you can infer from his book that Christianity has been part of his life. His parents were christians, he talked with his minister etc. A reason for not mentioning religion is perhaps to appeal to all demographics - such as yourself. I think that if he were a true atheist, he would not have said "I will not talk about religion because it is a personal matter", and instead would have omitted that section of the lecture.

I agree with him that to be happy or not is our choice. Make our life colorfull, so we'll what we should be which is a humanbeing. I have a father that had just died June,2,2008 because of colon cancer. His mental was not as strong as Randy. As a son I always comfort him and prepare him to his death. People like Randy do not 'die' as we understand death normally. Like Helen Keller had said "it is moving into another room." WE can no more shake hands with them but we can live the ideals they left us with. When we do, they live through us. Randy has left such a wonderful legacy for his kids - Dylan, Logan and Chloe. I am sure Jai, Randy's wife, along with Chris, Laura and Tammy will bring their dad to life for the three kids.

i want to encourage everyone who is diagnosed to waste NO TIME. Unfortunately the doctor my dad had-overlooked some things and too much time went by. He was diagnosed end of oct. (when doc saw and did not say anything to him some spots a few months ago)He passed away Nov 20, after fighting as hard as he could,from advanced stages of pancreatic cancer. DO NOT DELAY ON GETTING SYMPTOMS CHECKED AND RECHECKED IF NECESSARY. I do want to thank you though. You did give him the hope to keep fighting:)!!
