Amon Tobin most certainly didn't use voice samples first. Try listening to My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts by Brian Eno/David Byrne from 1981, for example. Or maybe check out Karlheinz Stockhausen, I think he chopped up some voices on tape about 40+ years ago.

What i meant to say by ahead of its time is when more songs that involve human voice samples come out in the coming years few will remember amon tobin as a person who pioneered the idea. I understand why u think its a silly thing to say, but mark my words 10 years from now when ppl are using all kinds of samples to produce songs me and u will remember amon tobin as the guy who used them first. He will fade into the background, but the true fan will always remeber... oh btw i love cookies too:):)

25 years ahead of it's time? I love how people say how things are ahead of their time... Amon's my favourite artist, but that's just a silly thing to say. Really love all the videos too, except Proper Hoodidge. Supermodified and Out From Out Where are the two best albums ever to be released in my opinion, though Foley Room ain't too bad either, though I'd guess Permutation is more widely liked, easier listen and has little bits for everyone. Was a cute little opinion outburst from my part, huh?

I'd like to put to rest the confusion regarding this video. The Pointer Sisters are responsible for the origonal Seseme Street Pinball Number Count. This is a remix by Ninja Tune's DJ Food. There is speculation that DJ Food is a person. Which ultimately is not the case as many many people have toured under the DJ Food name. DJ Food is ultimately a Project "Food for DJ's" started by Coldcut. However over the years it has become so populat that Strictly Kev has taken over the Live DJing.

Me too! It was my first festival and this set was an absolute highlight - i was on my own for this and the mud, the drizzle, a can of cider and a joint, and this wonderfully atmospheric music combined to beautiful effect! i have been trying to track down a video of 'over' from this set for years but to no avail so if somebody could point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated - it has a very special place in my heart! cheers, benj

You must have ordered the European version with the PAL format DVD... You should have got the NTSC version from the North American Shop (assuming you ordered from the ninjatuneDOTnet website which you should have)... So, yeah. Just pick up a cheap region free dvd player that plays both NTSC and PAL and enjoy your Fast Asleep (should have been titled Fast Awake, don't you agree?) DVD on your TV. Another interesting fact; the cover concept originally featured a little girl not a woman.
