How about a little research? U.S. produce 490.8 billion cu m of natural gas and natural gas proved reserves in the US - 5.551 trillion cu m(from World Factbook). So you'll run out of gas in 11-12 years... The only way to avoid this is to invest in Biofuel industry and fuel efficient technologies. P.S.Don't trust corporate raiders.

OIL = AMERICAN DREAMS
By: OUTOFGAS88. on 26 Nov 08, 09:50:28
i believe his plan will work also , but the nation will have to sevrely down size, and the population reduced by about 1/3, BOTTOM LINE in order for any of these alternative energy plans to work for any lenght of time, means that we (americans) will have complete change the why we live our lives, and get rid of these old out dated visions of america that says what ever you dream up you can make come true here in america.

MR. Boone, I've been involved with some oil projects in the 1980's and early 90's. I believe you have the answer to out future energy problems. We cannot keep burning natural gas for electricity. Obama wants to do away with coal, No a good idea at the moment as we generate 50% of our electricity with coal. Replace coal with nuke power. It is a lot cleaner and safer source of eneergy.

Hay Pickins, why don't you also tell the people that your plan also includes tapping the hartland aquifer and sending the water to texas where you don't have any. I mean no disrespect, I just find it hard to beleve that a texan man, who made his billions in oil, suddenly wants to do good. You know you have a hidden agenda, just admit it.

Don't worry about the people in the oil industry, there will be plenty of jobs in clean energy. You're not still worried about all people employed by horse and buggy makers, are you?
By: laneige08. on 11 Nov 08, 04:28:46
Obama is not a scientist, Obama wants to waste more of your money in wasteful research projects. T. Boone Pickens? specializes in Energy Plans to reduce our dependency on foreign oil and is ahead of our time. ??? GOD SAVE AMERICA! ???
By: godivadove. on 10 Nov 08, 13:21:38
love the fact that this man is wanting to reduce our dependency on foriegn oil. I'm shaken and worried about the future of the oil industry all together tho.....many people have jobs thru it. whats going to happen to them??

I am with him 100 percent, is time for a change Obama hopefully follows the plan. OIL isn no longer the issue now. WE need more in our pocket new ways to keep economy more stable.

Boone Pickens is a good plan to to solve the energy crisis but it will create a faith crisis because bible prophecy of Armageddon will be no more
By: cvxc10. on 08 Nov 08, 20:45:19
There's only one way to solve the energy crisis and that is to use all possible domestic energy sources: alternative and oil. There IS enough oil to supply demand WITHOUT harming the environment?oil companies HAVE come out of the Dark Ages and have developed ways to eliminate pollution. Use the oil now while we build up a new energy infrastructure of nuclear, solar, wind, etc. The only thing is ethanol...give up on it, it's more expensive to refine than oil. I say use 'em all.
By: Omgitszztop. on 08 Nov 08, 15:13:50
Why don't you wait until he gets in there first...before saying what he's done wrong as president...he hasn't even been sworn in yet. "Drill here drill now" is another republican slogan to throw around at election time...that doesn't mean shit. Alternative energy is the future. "Drill here drill now" is stupid. 1. The government can't make a privately owned oil company do business where they don't want to. 2. There's not enough oil here to supply the demand. 3.Pollution risk is too high.
By: krejdavid. on 08 Nov 08, 07:14:25
What Obama says is not what he does. Obama has supported wasteful spending and proposed more of his own. The kind of change we can not afford. DRILL HERE DRILL NOW PAY LESS God bless America!!!!
By: Omgitszztop. on 07 Nov 08, 21:28:17
Picken's Plan - intelligent. Newt Gingrich's Drill Here Drill Now - stupid. I wonder if T.Boone is going to go from being a Republican to a Green party supporter. That would be quite a switch...but pretty cool. I'm a staunch Democrat ...but T.Boone is all right in my book. I just hope this plan can get off the ground soon.
By: Omgitszztop. on 07 Nov 08, 20:30:55
That's bullshit...Why in the hell would Obama want the coal industry to go bankrupt? This PickensPlan sounds decent but it's gonna take a long time and a lot of money to get off the ground.....possibly decades. Our country is practically broke!! But, hopefully Obama will steer this country in the right direction...I think he will...Obama is intelligent.

By: ac91leg. on 06 Nov 08, 23:11:05
What is your solution to this problem? You should always have an solution when you criticize someones plan. Since you have experience with lack of stations your solution should be to employ natural gas station in conjunction with moving cars to natural gas.
