The Concorde had only one crash in it's 27 years it flew. It's a small sample of craft but one crash shouldn't render it "unreliable." Perhaps running the numbers from Concorde verse a 737/747 render them less reliable given the sample size differences? It was my belief they decommissioned because of economical concerns as Concorde was never actually profitable.

No shit an anti-aircraft missile will take down a commercial aircraft; they aren't designed to dodge missiles behind enemy lines, they transport people for monetary gain. The Concorde was a good concept but after the accident in Paris, its safety was reconsidered. Instead, we have better aircraft like 747s and 777s that fly those routes, in more time but with much greater comfort and ease. The Concorde was a thin little tube.

You know nothing about aviation, so it's best you not make comments like that. When an aircraft must land in a crosswind (aka, winds blowing across the runway rather than with or against the aircraft), the pilots must use the rudder to yaw the aircraft enough to the left or right so as to hold the runway heading. If you were to come directly in, you'd be blown off course. Instead, they hold that yaw until crossing the threshold, when they align with the runway heading and flare for touchdown.

Yeah, well, luckily those were Boeing test flights in the California desert. Taking a 767 to the limits like that is crazy, and typically you come down hard on the main gear at an awkward angle (obviously, where the wheels are not parallel with the runway) as seen here. Those were some intense winds.

Well, if only you knew the challenge of landing an aircraft in a 20+ knot crosswind, with passengers aboard and while holding a higher than typical speed to ensure you don't get thrown around as much and to ensure you hold your spacing for aircraft behind you. As demonstrated in this video, it's quite challenging, and often times aircraft "go around", or try their approach again, to avoid dangerous situations. Getting the procedure right takes much practice, but crosswinds are fucking fun.

For me, the lyrics mean that we keep getting stuck in the same everyday cycle of shit, and compares that to flies in a jar of Vaseline. You can't escape. They split up because Scott is a heroin addict and it was a problem for the rest of the band. Like gohyperstrike said, they are back together, and actually still sound amazing live -- saw them over the summer.

If I had been at this show then STP would be one of my favorite bands. This is undeniably an absolutely amazing live performance. Love the crowd sing-a-long, especially from 3:05 and 4:03. Once again, I DIDN'T SAY THAT. Scott did not start a band for cash, despite what people think. Remember the Core era? Everybody called STP "grunge-imitators". Do I think that STP, at the time, was grunge? Yes. Was STP fully, 100% grunge? No. Why? It's because they changed their style to more mainstream alternative, starting with Number 4.
