i don't think a news segment is the perfect place for such a great technology. while it might look cool, for the watcher it has no value at all, this segment was just about showing diferent pictures, a normal slideshow would have done the trick. a good use i could imagine, would be a talkshow about a particular theme, where everybody around a table could show the others what he's talking about and any person would be able to give a direct feedback to his thoughts.

Quite tough to get, but thinkgeek got it back in stock, so i got mine finally. Not as programmable as one would think. With the application you can only select from pre-defined animations or create own "still" layouts. you can not create own animations like "pacman runs around". The support website is terrible and buggy. Although technically no problem they dont release an SDK so animating the keyboard stays a dream (besides the predefined 2 or 3 schemes). This could be so much more, a shame!

ive been using 3d studio max for a while and i think id rather use a mouse. this seems like it will take longer to model with than with just a mouse. Touch screens are useless if you really think about it. They are cool tho thats about it but impractical and slow and you have to keep your arms moving always and it would lose its "coolness" very fast and youll be dying for your mouse and keyboard back. fuck touch screen, go away.

Awesome! Out of all the competitors that I have seen Jeff Han's is by far the best, better than windows with the cameras, imac touch and even HP touch. Hopefully this will be the winner for all media and computers. Question: How can I get employed here I'm a bit of graphic artist myself. Best 2 all.

This so breaks the whole paradigm. The use of "tools" -- something from desktop, single-pointer interfaces. You should have "contexts", it is so easy here, no Avid or vi-like mode-switching necessary, just by seeing _where_ you put your fingers the software should adapt. Not impressed.

how about gestural input? how about showing the desk sized concept? what if the dude up here has to input text- how ergonomic is it to type with your wrists cramped up like youre doing pushups? how about only having a 5"x5" pad that is just for gestural input and minimal character display? cmon urban planners would use this for some fancy client display board, or critique tool rather than a design interface. think specific not big.

imagine going examining MRI scans in 3D, being able to zoom into specific areas of the brain, and highlighting areas where a tumor has grown. it makes things so much easier. thats what technology is, to make things easier. i can't see how a standard pc, mouse keyboard setup can be easier than using your actual fingers. isn't it less troublesome without 'the middle man'?
