The complete prototype circuit is shown here built on a single PCB. The reflector is made from PVC pipe with a rear mirror. EHT now slightly lower and the gap size has been reduced. Track is 'Hold Me Now' from the Thompson Twins - chosen purely for it's good dynamic range, vocals & clever percussion ! Plasmas dont have "Burn in" anymore that was the problem with earlier plasma's but the newer plasma's (pioneer) its almost impossible to get burn in. You'll probably have to leave CNN on for 3 strait days in the first 300 hours of watching the plasma. people use "Burn in" as an excuse to justify there purchase of an LCD. Plasma is far superior from a technological stand point. LCD's have all kinds of motion issues its not even a debate.

Plasma is so much better. I returned a Sony LCD which had: *Burn in issues (yes, that's right) *Terrible motion *Poor PQ And something else you should know: 120hz LCDs often times make movies look like they were shot on video. This report seems to be a couple of years old. Prices are out of wack and the sizes have changed. But the principles hold true: choose Plasma if you watch a lot of movies and sports; choose LCD if you do a lot of gaming. LCD is great for kitchens. If you have a "man cave" like me in the basement, plasma is the way to go.

LCD 120Hz. One thing they forget to mention is the power consumption. LCD saves you a ton of money on your power bill. Also, the fine picture degrades much slower than a plasma. However, both picture is good:-) So, if you feel like spending the most money in the long run, plasma is the way to go. Another good thing that plasma is good for is heating up your house. Produces alot of heat. :-) Enjoy in the winter.

I'd be happy with either that's for sure! :) but there is a difference or people wouldn't be talking about it.. Plasma has little cells of neon and xenon gas coated with phosphor. Its sort of having millions of tiny neon lights for pixels. They aren't as bright as LCD but they has much better contrast because each pixel is "lit" as needed.. LCDs backlight the entire screen and some light leaks through in the black areas. Thin CRT would probably be the best but it'll likely never get made.

lol, whats the last LCD you've watched sports on? seriously... I watch movies all the time, it looks absolutly stunning (My samsung 46" LCD) when watching Blu-Ray movies on it! lol. Maybe my eyes suck, but to me, LCD's looks neither better nor worse. Samusung ay? my Uncles 50" samsung Plasma has a shadowed image on the screen which is visible on a white background and he's had the thing for 3 months, video games? nope, they watch DVD's and normal TV

A TV's a fucking TV dude! I went LCD because I could not see ANY difference in picture quality, and I shouldn't have to even worry about burn-in or fade at all, if you buy a stereo, have it on maximum it isn't suppose to blow! I went with a Samsung Full-HD Series 6 and its absolutly flawless, I have a Blu-ray player and watching movies is absolutly stunning. Don't regret it! also I play HD games on it with my 360.

The only time when i would say it was safe to do so if it was a latest gen Pioneer. Just quit bro, You lost. plasma's don't get burn-in after only 1 hour(as you've said in previous posts) of use you must of just been really unlucky with a defective unit, even if it was brand new it should take 12-36 hours minimum. I've literally never seen burn in on a 2008 model plasma, only on Insignia/no-name brand plasma's, burn-in is virtually non-existent anymore unless you really really want it, and personally I'd keep away from other manufacturers of plasma's other then Panasonic and Pioneer. PLASMA>LCD

SytheX is on point. The only way I would purchase an LCD is if I were buying it solely for gaming or in a very bright room. I would also consider one for a bedroom. I watch a lot of sports, am a moderate gamer and watch a lot of movies. The picture on my 50 inch Samsung Plamsa is fantastic. The black levels and color accuracy are better than even the best LCD's out there. My T.V. is rated to last 100,000 hours and has no burn in issues with things like pixel shift built in.

Actually i do know the science behind a plasma. Burn in is the uneven wear or aging of the plasma. In this day and age you have to do a whole lot to get burn in.. If you watched CNN for 3 days straight before 300 hours of panel life than you might be able to cause burn in. The truth is burn in is a non-issue in this day and age. Maybe you should read about. Maybe you have a LCD and you are in denial that plasma is far superior.

I use Vista regularly at work (unfortunately), a Vista rip-off KDE 4.0 is not. It is superior in every way. As far as OS X goes, the arguments over who innovated what first will go on for years. But the similarities are shallow ones. KDE 4.0 is a different beast from the Mac desktop and overall, better IMHO. And it is worth pointing out how much open source software Apple have used to make OS X and Safari possible in the first place.

I installed on the day of the 4.0 release and yes, as we were warned, this was the 'will eat your children' release. But every week since release I see new improvements. Its getting better every week. And this is great to witness. I'm using Kubuntu 7.10 and though there are glitches and things it has become my default desktop. Incidentally I was playing with a new mac the other day and I was actually disappointed by it and was happy to get back to my 'better every week' KDE 4.0 desktop.
