Hello, Alain. This version was on their first album, simply titled "The Platters" it is recorded with no strings..just a band. The other one you refer to which was released as a single in l959 (slower and with full orchestra) was actually on their "Remember When" album, which I believe came out in l957.

Heck, on the right day I can go down to the A below it (which is the lowest note I've ever recorded myself singing, though I've held the G a few times). Moving on from the bragging, people like Barry Carl (previously of Rockapella) and the late Ivan Rebroff have (or had) everyday ranges going ridiculously low. The drill was dc because it ran on batteries. Its motor is still an ac generator when used as you did. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. You are still doing great work. I, too, found the use of platinum unwise. Why spend so much money on a less effective material? You'd just be another auto manufacturer. lol Keep up the good work.
