Well that is awfully blind of me to say and I realize that it was said in error. My thinking is that Hiro and Ando ARE stereotypes and to have had someone as talented as Sia in either role would remove the stereotype and make the character he played far less annoying. dude, I agree with you on that the show should have never been canceled... but you kind of missed the point not only this poem but of a lot of Beau's work... I'm not saying that he wouldn't make a good "Hiro"or "Ando" Im saying that by stating that, you're grouping him in with other asian/east-asian actors purely because he's of asian ethnicity. I think it is gibberish or at least slurred to the point where it is. It's not anywhere in the lyric booklet. My only theory I can think of as to it's meaning is that she's so overwhelmed by her emotions and other sensations that she's speaking "in tongues" or something like that. I've been in situations where I'm so overwhelmed by some stimulus or my emotions that all traditional usage of language escapes me. Rarely, but it happens. Just my theory though. Lovely song nonetheless.

Seems like self-pitying woe is me autobiographical fiction that predicted the let-me-tell-you-about-my-horrible-childhood genre of the 90's and early 2000's. Dude, I'm a soundengineer myself, this effect is called distortion and is created by amplifying the original song over 0dB when clippin occurs. You even hear the other sounds of the music pushed away by her voice (at 1:32 for example), because there isn't enough "headroom" in the soundfile. So really, it's NOT on purpose. Just admit you were wrong and listen to a version that doesn't have this distortion. Personally, I can't listen to this over-amplified recording because of the distortion.

Way to listen to the guy. Watch other songs from same performance uploaded by different users. It's an audio problem created by the uploader. You can hear the static distortion amongs the rest of the instruments. They'd never release recorded mixes if they weren't recorded or mixed properly.

I can assure you it's not an audio problem. She is much too close to the mic, producing that rasp in her voice. Furthermore, the shape and type of the mic she is using is not designed to pick up noise from one specific direction. Her voice needs not to be focused and be kept a distance for the mic to pick it up properly. The effect is not something the sound editor could fix like magic and therefore stuck. She keeps a relative distance in the other vids, indicating this is done on purpose. :)
