I saw this movie when I was 7 in 1964 we saw the second showing in all of Ottawa, Ont. Canada. It took quite some time for me to actually be able to say "that" word. Fred Wynn was my favorite and of course the cartoons. A great movie!!

Yeah, that line is totally unnecessary. It's also probably a parody of women who want equality. This movie came out in 1963 and this song was written for it. The second wave was just picking up (The Feminine Mystique was published the same year), and this song is probably making fun of non-traditional views of gender. I think wanting to have more rights than men is a fairly rare position. Women know that sexism sucks. Just an aside (because many people are confused by this),feminism calls for equality and equal rights. The are some small factions that think women should be dominant but they're pretty much like your crazy great aunt who you know to ignore at Christmas parties. Obviously some rights aren't directly applicable to men... unless you want the right to choose your own birth plan?
