Its not a bad cover version,all they have done is made it look simple and put there own style to it. Ive seen a few Dire Straits tribute bands and they all try so hard at perfecting Knopflers guitar licks,but when they put a note out of place or miss a beat,they sound awful.

I love this movie!! I saw it first on a bored summer night, and it made me cry =/ but I STILL loved it =D Last year we studied the play at school and I rented it again. This movie is simply beautiful [yes I cried again]. The acting was really good. Overall I think any fan of the play would enjoy this. And all those who are saying he looks like Zac... 1st... Zac looks like HIM [gah it's from 1968 -.-] 2nd... This guy's a lot better, and his face isn't coated with foundation xDD

You're wrong =/ He had received news that Juliet had died, so he before going to visit her body went to an apothecary and bought poison. When he returns to Verona and sees her 'dead', although he does mention she still looks as if asleep and not dead, he drinks the poison. When Juliet wakes up, and sees Romeo dead, she is devastated, no poison was left, so she grabs his dagger and kills herself.

The Dylan comparison doesn't work at all...they are worlds apart thematically,stylistically, instrumentally. Upbringings in small-town Minnesota vs. Queens? Not much of a comparison there, either... Two very different, brilliant musicians we're lucky to have. Period.

Yep, 1980. It was on the "Making Movies" album (a great record). There are a number of other really good tracks on it: "Skateaway," "Expresso Love," "Solid Rock," and "Tunnel of Love," for example. This was their third album, and Mark Knopfler was really progressing as a songwriter (in addition to his excellent guitar playing) and really hitting his stride around this time. It's probably my favorite Dire Straits album.

Beautiful!! This hauntingly beautiful, bittersweet theme forms part of the soundtrack score to Franco Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet. The film starred Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting and was a box office sensation in 1968. The music was composed by Nino Rota who sadly died a couple of years ago ( I once served him a pint of English ale!!!!!) There are many clips from the film on youtube and if beauty is your thing then the movie is far superior to any other interpretation and a must watch!!!
