I've noticed that the audio gets out of sync with the animation starting at the transition from G to H, and by the end of the video its almost a full letter behind. I used to think that these older cartoons when I watched them in the early-mid '80s. Now I watch sesame street again with a child I babysit and I do see old cartoons like "The Ladybug picnic" and skits with Kermit the frog. Don't worry...they do still play the classic stuff.

It's funny, I was born in 1983 but I did not know that so many of my favorite cartoons and clips were actually made in the 70's, I thought they were all brand new when I first saw them...Everyday the world is seen with the fresh eyes of the next generation I guess :). If only SS would understand this more today and play some of the older timeless cartoons like this one again :).

I remember always being utterly captivated by this. Well, up until the end when I would yell at the TV, "'Zed', not 'zee'!" :-D I had no concept of borders at the time, so I didn't really realize that they pronounce Z differently in the US. They have! Check out the two DVD sets called "Old School" that cover the show from 1969-1979. This clip is included in Volume One and, trust me, you'll enjoy them as much as your kids, if not moreso. No official word yet on any more volumes, so we're keeping our fingers crossed, but these two will provide hours of old school fun, enjoy!

loogle: Rude & disturbing much, especially since little kids DO puruse YT with their parents in search of something valuable (unlike so much of TV nowadays outside of PBS and some small rare gems on the primary networks). The purpose was to show kids the value of cooperation and to show that friends could play together even if they had originally wanted to just be with one of those other people (or Muppets in this case).

holy crap... i remembering hearing this song when i was 4 years old! i only heard it once or twice, but that song just stuck in the back of my head... every few years i would remember it, but then i would forget to do any research into the song... well, i finally remembered the song tonight... it took me about a half hour, but you have to imagine the smile on my face after the first second of hearing the rhythm...
