About the song lyrics I believe when they say killing in the name of, they're referring to god. Also, I believe they're saying "Some of those who were forces, where the same that brought crosses" Meaning the majority of killing was done in the name of God. Now they're trying to tell us what to do? I believe it's a rebellion against religion and discrimination.

One of the most perfect songs I've ever heard. First listened to Metallica 13 years ago... This song still touches my soul like very few things (Mozart included). Amazing, guitar tone, amazing lyrics, amazing melody, very apropriate sense of "echoe", everything works in conjunction and flows from beautiful melancoly to violent and heavy and deep feelings of despair and dark agony. Metallica have indeed died with Cliff Burton - with the exception of playing live, they're still great.
