And do some research on the birthplace of disco (since you wanna go there) ..Without FUNK (mostly from the South & Midwest) there would be NO DISCO ..OR HIP-HOP, even, for that matter! But I don't say hip-hop is from Jamaica, the South, or the Midwest, because I'm smart enough (and not selfish enough) to know that it all came together, giving us a new sound in NY! You say NY, simply because Knuckles derived from NY, but that's like saying Hip-hop started in Jamaica, because Kool Herc came from the West Indies(introducing America to the Jamaican style of DJing/toasting). But we don't say that, because all of the elements of hip-hop formed in NY. Same with Chicago House. House was influenced by disco djs, but it wasn't disco (just how disco was influenced by soul & R&B, which mostly derived from the South and MIDWEST!)

That's very arguable. It spread like wildfire on the underground circuit! If a hood Dj had it, he was pretty much the man. I remember most people wouldn't even try to mix it once it came in on wax. You would play the entire song within your set, cause it was so slamming. Made Jamie a household name overnight. We all thought it was some white british group, and found out it was a black kid with a studio in his crib on the southside of Chicago. HAHAHA!!!

The Jungle Bros, Todd Terry, Doug Lazy,Just to name a few artist of the 87' thru 94' era.Okay now Warlock Records, Sleeping Bag Records, and Fresh Records all House Recrds labels out of NYC during the 80's to 90's. This song takes me way back to the MAIN EVENT night club in Norfolk, VA. When DJ Heart Attack put on this joint, the crowd would bum rush the floor. To this day this is my favorite dance cut of all time. The Neckwork was the dance of the day and folks would almost break their necks doing it during the break beat. In my humble opinion this is one of the most underated songs of its era. To me it was a classic house track, but I dont think it was intended to be and thus could not pigeon holed. Old school says you are my all in all.... classic
