I personally know people who were fired from their positions at mortgage lending companies because Their bosses did not want them to pursue "just loan" but high loans because the commission was high. What you're suggesting here would seem to imply; "Oh, the rally-goers weren't yelling 'terrorist' and 'kill him', they were just yelling 'sunshine' and 'rainbows'. On the off chance that your statement is true, the volume is a clear indicator. I have seen plenty of videos from both campaigns, and I never heard anyone at an Obama rally yell anything out over the crowd to disrespect Mccain. If they were there, they were far too few to be heard. Contrast this with the droves of people yelling that Obama was a terrorist etc, then try to tell me that both sides were EQUALLY guilty. The main point is that we need to change the system by rallying together as much support as we can for third parties. Having a choice between two lame ducks is the problem and Ron Paul basically wanted to say that as things are it is not truly a contest and that the voting process isn't really working. In a way it's like despotism and people interested in keeping themselves in power are constantly being voted for. It's not about winning or losing but about fixing the process.
