Gross is the hardest, I'd say - partly because there is no forgiving Life boost ahead of his battle so I've usually faced him without full health. As for Arufo (how do you know his name anyways?), I've beaten him without getting hit once and without being 'powered up'. He can only cast his mirror image if you are facing him.

Each of the Orbots contributed some ability to the gestalt (Bort's shapechanging, Boo's energy manipulation, etc.) and Crunch was the gestalt's primary power supply, as I recall. One episode, Mighty Orbots was running low on energy, so Crunch detached, chowed down on a bunch of junk and rejoined the gestalt, transferring his converted energy to the gestalt and supercharging Mighty Orbots for the battle ahead. But yeah, Crunch was the team's designated comic relief. ;-)

Not exactly. Tonka owned GOBOTS, not the ORBOTS. It was TONKA that sued the makers of Mighty Orbots. HASBRO had nothing to do with the lawsuit, and neither did HANNA-BARBARA (makers of the Gobot cartoon). Later, Hasbro aquired Tonka, and the Gobots were turned into toy robots for toddlers.

Hehe, I remember that Orbots was amazingly a DAMN LOT bigger when it transformed!! XD Thor was jus a little bigger than his creator, but when being Orbots´chest he could get him, the spacecraft and Oh-No all inside... and there was room for more!!!! BTW, does anyone remember the chapter when Oh-No was "ill" and they had to do it all by themselves? Or when they bunch thought they were going to be replaced by "new versions" (they found their own blueprints)?? ^_^

The funny thing is if you water things down for children and make it "family friendly" and "safe", they end up not liking it or remembering it as fondly as the stories that are fraught with real life and death danger and dark elements, because it continues to be relevant for them into adulthood. C.S. Lewis said something to the same exact effect as that. Basically what taught ME to love the Bible and have a concept for all these stories was Superbook and the Pilgrim's Progress cartoon.

No dear, the Superbook is obviously known to be the Bible. In order to illustrate it to children, they turned it into a book that could allow you to "live" the Bible's accounts. Instead of reading it, they could travel and hear it speak. If you actually watched it some, you'd probably understand it better.

I agree, its quite sad tbh. i loved this programme as a kid but i diddnt see the religious side of it, through being innocent. i loved the stories, and yes the stories are good but the title superbook is abit forceful. I think if your family is religious then its a great way to teach children but for me it was simply for some anime stories.

We kinda pitied Marine. Here is a guy who fights against his own people risking his life all the time to protect Earth, but earthlings were so MEAN to him except for Jamie. Anime is usually illogical and unrealistic but the harsh treatment Marine received was so strangely realistic me and my friends laughed. We loved Marine dearly! He is really nice. Throughout the war, he kept loving his own S-1 people as well.

Saw the TV series' first 8 episodes in Japan at age 17; was an exchange student there in 1980 and really identified with Marine, being in a world that parallels your own in so many ways but yet is alien in others. The first episode was the first time I ever saw characters die in animation; that and what followed really shook me. Spent years obsessed with wanting to see the rest of the show; finally did in '93 when the LD box came out. Still an avid fan today! Thanks for introducing folks to it!

I saw it in Cuba in theater, I was about 10 and it really depressed me, but liked it just because how unique it was. The film was not afraid of having all it's characters die and the earth completely destroyed by radioactivity,plus it's meant to be a super-robot movie, yet Baldios only appears 2 times. The twist of the Earth being the past of S-1 was great also. The american version however is trimmed (all the blood violence has been excised) I've been trying to get the japanese version.

I liked it that Marine didn't stop loving Aphrodia no matter what(he saw her as Guttler's victim), and that Aphrodia kept struggling to admit that she was deeply in love with Marine. Both of them wanted the beautiful blue ocean for the people. Her death was a justice as she was a terrible war criminal. Marine is left alone facing the severe reality of the destroyed home planet. When this anime was made in 1980, the world was in terror of possible nuclear wars with USSR.

Baldios is also about tragic romance between S-1 female chief commander(Rosa Aphrodia) and Baldios chief pilot(Marine Reagan). They are enemies, but they deeply love each other, more than they want to admit. Aphlodia has been deceived by Gattler(he had murdered her parents), and unable to change her course of evil living. It ends with her death who had destroyed billions of earthlings. Truly a serious war/love drama like Shakespeare or WWII - definitely not for kids.

I think that scene was an allusion to the infamous decapitated horse scene in "The Godfather". But, for me, it was the scene where Victor's poor wife, Elizabeth, suffered the agony of burning to death that disturbed me. I've seen such mature animated films as "Starchaser: Legend of Orin", Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards", Hata Masami's "Ringing Bell/The Bell of Chirin", and Rintaro's "Revenge of the Ninja Warrior/Dagger of Kamui" in children sections before.

Well...you need to do this... 1.- Finish the game and save it 2.- Then in the menu will appear these options: "New game, Load game, options, Special", select Special and there is gonna show a video of another devilman cartoon(a very stupid in my opinion XD) 3.- You are gonna start again with a diferent Akira and you just have to finish the game in that version with rank "A" or more than "A"... loved this show, used come on in the UK on a saturday morning on bbc1 back in the mid 80's. I always thought it was much better than the puppet thunderbirds. A lack of combat in the shows meant it could not compete against transformers, thundecats etc..

Loved GI Joe the Movie when I was about 5 years old - my brother and I were really into GI Joe and Transformers, and we saw both movies in the mid 1980s. I can't say I ever owned any of the Celebrity Just for Kids videos, but I'm sure I rented at least one.

Nope, that was a BGM cue from Project A-Ko. It can be heard during the beginning of the film, though Central Park Media had once used it in a preview/promo they used to had at the beginning of their VHS tapes.
