The only part of Slipknot you can compare them to is from their first album (not counting MFKR). Their later albums have changed in genre every time. I wouldn't even compare Mudvayne and Slipknot together just because (old) Mudvayne wore facepaint and alien masks. They were both considered nu metal, yet they sounded too different to compare.

Sorry man, they're NOT the same genre. :\ Corey Taylor has completely different vocals, there's the DJ'ing, sampling, and most of the guitar riffs in general are different. Although, some songs on their album 'Iowa' have riffs that can be comparable to songs like My Own Summer (heavier part), but that's about it. :\ Both bands kick ass though.

I agree... and I ham a fan of their music, they did some really good songs. but we all know they where much more in it for the success$ and they did use being kind of like "nirvana"(the voice similarity is obvious!) to reach faster into some audiences and then profit adding Gavin's sexyness...They do sound different, but yes there are similarities! I agree with the opinion that Thomas is an awesome drummer, though I also feel that he over-fills some parts. Specially the more quiet and atmospherical parts. Despite that he rules, and he DOES NOT get offtime, it just seems like he does because he is playing a very dragged 2 against 3 on the bass drum. Listen to some traditional brazilian samba, and you'll get the point. It's not exactly the same rythmically, but you'll see what I mean by dragged. Despite that he never loses tempo.

I love Pridgen´s style, I WORSHIP The Mars Volta...but well hehe...I just think they dont work fine together...I prefered Jon a lot more (for this band) he fitted quite perfect...I love all of their records exept this one (The Bedlam In Goliath)...Amputechture was fucking amazing...but Bedlam is just Ok...Dont get me wrong I love what Cedric and Omar did all these years but now that things didnt work that well...like Cedric said..."I wouldnt oppose to an ATDI reunion" haha

pridgen plays off-time on purpose alot though. i prefer theodore's style, its much more clean (and easy to play, i cant play any of pridgen's stuff lol). he does have a habit of going to crazy and getting offtime unintentionally sometimes however.

Actually the only time I really hear a time problem with the drum was around after 40 seconds, and it was in and out. You can hear it clearly with Omar's soloing and the drums sounding in two seperate times for several second bursts. Otherwise I think it's just his flashiness. He is very energetic, which goes well with TMVs high live energy, but I don't think he was off time as many times as everyone was saying at the start.
