No, because it's not the items that ruin it, it's the new power items and the frequency due to the extra racers. Overall you can't get a better MK than SMK because the weapons were that useless, it was all about the skill :D

If the items ruin it, then answer this question: if you saw a mario kart with NO items would you play it? I'd reject it entirely because without items mario kart would be boring. Besides, in early mario karts you're very limited in what you can do plus those new items add excitement to the game. Though others can slow you down with good items you can do the same to them.

At least Louise is a stunner! :D IMO it's the worst one ever made, it cheapen the entire game by adding 12 races and more powerful items, because it means there's a lot more power items per race, and some races you drive for 3 seconds max before you get hit.

I was definate my 35 quid was worth this game, but considering MK on the 64 was the one I remember fondly,people say DS version > wii version AND I had the DS one on rent and its awesome like I said before ds so accessible. Hate to think I'd leave a MK gathering dust, is this not old MK with new stuff,cos I dunno anything about the wii version except, its not cheap, get a (not so) free wheel and advertised the hell out of it with redknapps *as a gooner feels sick* :)

I hated Excite as much as I hate gimmicks. Excite should be called crash to win. Because that's all you have to do to win XD I'd had the game 20 mins, I didn't know the controls. Had I waited any longer to do it, we'd be disscussing A LOT of different things. Like why I hated and despised the game as much, or why I'd rather watch every episode of Sex In The City before playing this ever again. Because that SITC marathon, painful as it would be, would still be better than this XD

you know that Wii wheel, use it with excite truck, you'll love it. Just so you know you can unlock to choose karts on 100cc, after a while you on lock it. Im supprised you did not show any stunt jumps in the vid despite mentioning them, IMO its just as easy to do atunt jump in a kart as a bike.

Even more pricey with the content. 3,900. It'll last you longer than any other 1 player Wii Ware title, if you like it, but as you say, it's pricey. So you could get Mega Man 9 and Bomberman and have a great single player game, and an excellent multiplayer, for just 500 more than this.

Thanks :) If you cleaned the game out by doing every mission, then I'm not sure if you can get more. Only way I know off is to download the mission packs. But I'd double check the mission briefings before you buy things that you may not want, just incase a few have some Elemente left. When choosing a Behest, it should bring up what can be found there :)

I love both for different things. Some days I say Turbo is better, some days I say this is better. I just like having extra fighters, because it breaks up the gameplay more when you can just pick one of 16. I hate how they usually have 50+ now though, because most are useless filler.

In my opinion SFII Turbo owns this game. Capcom completely overhauled the game and ruined it in the process. The sound effects are so bad compared to Turbo. Strong punch sounds like a bitch slap, strong kick sounds no where near as powerful as it used to. Guile sounds like a pussy when doing sonic booms. The music is so tinny and cheap, overall its as if the SNES is struggling to cope with it, it all sounds so compressed. Stick with Turbo if you ask me....shame, this could of been immense.

Turbo's got the speed and the better moveset, but this has the fighters and the modes. Super Turbo has that stupid powerbar move that was the biggest mistake in the franchises history. The games became less fun, and more technical. It was all about the pizazz. I look forward to IV, but I worry that it still won't better II.

Actually, there is a strafe button, but I think it is the L button, hard to reach. You can change to controls around quite a bit (there are a few presets) to make it more accesible. In fact, one of the presets is caleld 'strafing' and is set up for players who are used to strafing in combat.

My mate had this on the Original 64 with a N64 Steerng wheel. The wheel was awful, youd do donuts without touching it. ha ha ha. Good review. I didnt like this game, thought it was lacking, with Mario Kart being the hight of N64 Racers with F Zero, Wipe out, Ridge Racer and Xtreme G... This game just seemed very unfinished to me, with its scenery that appears infront of you, bad music, some dodgy sounds... Alright Multipayer, but otherwise I wouldnt play it.

3 mains flaws... Story, replayabillity of the 1p (There's nothing to make you come back, and the weapons are a bit meh) and HUGE multiplayer maps built for 16 or more, when it's only 4p and there's no bots. The multi bored the hell out of me.

Well, I admit Dan Danger speaking Dutch makes no sense. The company that made it is Scottish, not Dutch. But me and my brothers can confirm hearing Dutch in it. There's not really "secret" messages, most of what I hear checks out with the actual text.

It's all vaguely similar to the English. When Dan corrects EVO and tells him the music is good, it sounds like Dan says "Leuke muziek. Daar weet jij helemaal niets van." That means "Nice music. You don't know anything about that." En when he says leave it alone, it sounds like "Blijf er af", which means "keep off it".

Great review, there. I own this game, as well. Hey, interesting fact; I'm a Dutchman, and in the intro movie, it sometimes sounds like Dan Danger speaks Dutch. In a weird way, but I can hear Dutch words clearly.

It was a very long time ago now, but from what I rememberd. The gameplay as a whole was terrible, "wow let's all collect fruit on 1 level per world before moving onto the next". The controls were naff and very unresponsive. And the screen effects gave me a headache. Yoshi's Island 1 was amazing, Story was horrific and 2 was meh.
