Sounds like Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. They were very popular 1966-67. I don't recognize the song, though.

I love that long blue dress with blue hat at 2:50 but I'd never wear boa feathers because like Sir Paul McCartney I'm for PETA. This was a very interesting video thank you for posting! Groovy Fashions!

Were you able to find the name of the instrumental? I'm interested too. There was mention of James Last but he made too many vinyls.

Loved the false eyelashes and the Mary Quant hairstyles - but the dickie ... that was a first for me.

This appears to be 1966 I guess. I visited Hung On You which was the only really avant garde boutique featured. Carnaby Steet was finished by then . Carnaby street was finished by 1964. My favouite boutique at time was Just Men where I had various garments made . It was in Tryron street off Kings Road.

What a time! I'll never forget when "Austin Powers" came out back in '97 I thought, "This is so cool, now kids my age will actually know something about places like Carnaby Street!" Being a '60s nut since I was all of 10 I already knew about this scene. All these young people were playing "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper" in their bedrooms and turning on to the new sounds of Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. What a friggin' time to be alive!

You mean the yellow haired girl on the wall? From her eyes, that mole, and red lips, she looks exactly like Marilyn Monroe to me. Marilyn was the #3 Fashion Icon of the 20th Century, which is probably why she's there. A very famous 'landmark' at one time.

you're right 1963 was different from 1967. Try my other video London cafeterias 50's - 60's

or Jean Harlow from the 1930's
By: photografr7. on 16 Oct 08, 12:53:29
I want to take cues from this video to dress my characters (London, 1963) in my new book, but I'm afraid the book is set in 1963... a few years short of this fashion "revolution."

the smart-ass narrator is hilarious!! the HAIR/clothes/make-up are great, but the narrator is priceless. :)
By: owanone. on 16 Sep 08, 15:49:41
1967 of course. Still swinging but only one step ahead before the hippie-folk-psychedelic kind of thing starting in 1968 and getting big from 1969 well into the early 70's.
By: MightyQueen2500. on 14 Sep 08, 20:27:15
Note the mole, and yellow (not platinum) hair, it's obviously Marilyn.
By: bagzie. on 14 Sep 08, 19:51:21
What year was this made? I know a thing or two about fashion myself - I'd say 1966 or 67.
By: FelixAtagong. on 14 Sep 08, 18:23:26
Not Marilyn but Jean Harlow.
