I Like the remake too. But the orignals are always the best. I buy some of the remakes becuase they are really cheap compared to the orignals. Got the remake "the fog" for 3.99, and got the orignal "the fog" for 12.99..

James Herbert wrote a novel called "The Fog" in 1975 but it has nothing to do with the Carpenter movie. Stephen King's "The Mist" either which was published after the film was made. If that wasn't confusing enough, there was a novelization by Dennis Etchison of the film called [wait for it] "The Fog". A lot of people get confused but its understandable.
